Evan hosted a weekend of activities during the July 4, 2010, weekend in his native Toccoa, Ga. Evan’s E.O. (Education and Opportunity) Foundation hosted a bike and car show as well as a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The organization’s goal is to provide scholarships and literacy assistance to young people in Toccoa and elsewhere in northeast Georgia.“Coming from a small town, I used to think that what you see on TV was another world,” Evan said. “But when I went to college, it opened my eyes to the other side, and it gave me an opportunity to be who I am today. I am a strong believer in education. I am just trying to help kids out there who want to help themselves.”
