Duchess of Cambridge gets involved in volunteer work with the scouts

While she was recently named Hat Person of the Year by the Headwear Association, the Duchess of Cambridge has landed on the cover of Scouting magazine, February/March issue. Under a title that reads "A ROYAL MODEL. The Duchess of Cambridge gets involved in Scouting", Kate opens up to a different kind of audience.

Kate, who recently turned 30, has landed as the cover girl of the Scounting magazine after she performed some prvate volunteer work with the scouts, according to People. "Part of her role as a volunteer is to help out below the radar," says a source of Kate's work with the girl and boy scouts and their younger counterparts, the Beavers.

The scouts hope the duchess will help run a variety of activities relevant to her skills and interests, and she is likely to be popping into some groups' regular meetings near her home on Anglesey, North Wales, and elsewhere.

Meanwhile, one of the most known adventurers, Bear Grylls shares his tribute to Kate for her efforts: "It is how we change our society: many people doing a little bit," he says. The scouts are one of five charities that Kate has decided to patronize in her royal role. She is set to start officially touring some of them next month.

With her recent title as Hat Person of the Year, Kate joined Hollywood royalty Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt, who won last year's title.
