Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent had already gained acclaim in the bluegrass world long before teaming up to record their first album as a duo. Both were raised in musical families and have played bluegrass since the age of 3 -- Dailey in Tennessee and Vincent in Missouri.

They both also apprenticed with legendary acts. Dailey served as lead vocalist and guitarist for Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and Darrin Vincent was guitarist, mandolinist and harmony vocalist with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. Vincent has also worked with his sister, bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent, and the late John Hartford. Dailey and Vincent first met in 2001 during the International Bluegrass Music Association awards show in Louisville, Ky., and discovered an uncanny blend in their vocal harmonies, a tight sound reminiscent of the fraternal harmonies of the Louvin Brothers and the Bailes Brothers.

Their debut album, Dailey & Vincent, was released by Rounder Records in early 2008. By the end of the year, it had been named album of the year at the IBMA Awards. Collectively, the duo won seven IBMA awards in 2008, including entertainer of the year and emerging artist -- the first time in IBMA history that an act was honored in both categories in the same year. In addition to a win as vocal group, they were won in the gospel recorded performance for "By the Mark."

Dailey was named the IBMA's male vocalist of the year, and Vincent won an award in the recorded event of the year category for his involvement in the CD, Everett Lilly & Everybody and Their Brother. Dailey & Vincent's second album, Brothers From Different Mothers, is scheduled to be released in early 2009.
