Matt Forté is an American football running back for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League.

NFL Career:

Started all 32 career games with Chicago, leading the Bears in rushing in each of his first two seasons in the league... Totaled 2,167 yards on 574 carries (3.8 avg) and 12 TDs and has posted 120 catches for 948 yards (7.9 avg) and 4 TDs... His 2,167 rushing yards rank 15th on the Bears all-time list and his 120 receptions rank ninth in team annals among RBs... One of two players (Walter Payton) to post 50+ catch seasons on more than one occasion... Leads Chicago in rushing yards, attempts and receptions since joining the Bears in 2008... Collected five 100-yard rushing games and one 100-yard receiving game in his career... Broke franchise records for rushing yards by a rookie (1,238) and scrimmage yards by a rookie (1,715) in 2008... Became just the eighth rookie since the 1970 NFL-AFL meger to lead his team in both rushing yards and receptions... Also one of just two rookies in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards and post more than 60 catches (Edgerrin James, 1999).

2009 : Started all 16 games at RB, rushing for 929 yards on 258 carries (3.6 avg) and 4 TDs... Ranked second on the Bears in receptions, catching 57 passes for 471 yards (8.3 avg)... Reached the 1,400 yards from scrimmage mark for the second time in his career... Rushed for 100+ yards on two occasions, with the Bears going 2-0 in those games.

2008 - Broke the Chicago single-season rookie rushing mark with 1,238 yards on 316 carries (3.9 avg) to go along with 8 rushing TDs while starting all 16 games at RB... Also set the franchise rookie single-season record for yards from scrimmage (1,715)... Caught a team-high 63 catches for 477 yards, which set the team record for catches by a Chicago RB and receptions by a rookie, to go along with 4 receiving TDs... Tied for the NFL lead with 86 first downs and tied for 12th in the League with 12 TDs (8 rushing, 4 receiving) in his rookie season.

College:
Finished career at Tulane (2004-2007) as the school's all-time leader in rushing yards per game (99.2), rushing touchdowns (39), total touchdowns (44) and scoring among non-kickers (266 points)... Also finished career ranked second in school annals in all-purpose yards (5,261), rushing yards (4,265), rushing attempts (833) and 100-yard rushing games (16)... Just the 11th player in NCAA Division I (Bowl Subdivision) history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season with 2,127 in 2007 which ranks 7th all-time in NCAA history... Added 103 receptions for 985 yards and five touchdowns... Named Most Valuable Player for the 2008 Under Armour Senior Bowl, rushing for a game-high 58 yards on 8 carries and a game-high 4 catches for 38 yards... As a senior, collected second-team All-America honors from Sports Illustrated and third-team All-America accolades from the Associated Press and Phil Steele Publications after starting all 12 games...
