Narain life and biography

Narain ((born as Sunil Kumar) is an Indian film actor, who appears in Malayalam and Tamil films.

Narain was born in Thrissur, Kerala to Malayali parents. His father is Ponnani Kizhakke Kalathil T.M.Ramakrishnan Nair and his mother is Shantha Nair. After two and a half years of dating, he married television personality and singer Manju Haridas on 26 August 2007 at Calicut.

After completing a course in cinematography at the Adyar Film Institute, Narain came into the film industry as an assistant to Rajeev Menon, one of India's noted film makers and cameramen. He worked with him for many advertisements and a film - Morning Raga. His first film, was Nizhalkuthu by the veteran director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. First commercial film 4 The People, as an actor brought him recognition and fame. In this sensational blockbuster Narain's performance as the firebrand IPS officer, Rajan Mathew was well noticed. A struggling lawyer, Emmanuel John, in Achuvinte Amma and as touching doctor, Jeevan, in Sheelabathi. 4 The People was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. He also played notable role in Annorikal. Classmates brought him close to peoples heart. His debut Tamil movie was Chithiram Pesuthadi, which was declared a blockbuster. Through Panthaya Kozhi, produced by director Lal, he has been re-launched as an independent action hero in Malayalam Film industry. In 2008, he did another youth oriented Malayalam movie MinnaminnikoottamThis film did well in box office.

His film Pallikoodam was highly performance oriented, he played a character of a collector Vetrivel. The film was directed by Thangar Bachchan. His performance in the recently released film Anjaathe, directed by Mysskin, was critically acclaimed.

In 2009, Narain did a key role in Bhagyadevatha directed by Sathyan Anthikkad who gave him a break in Achuvinte Amma. The family oriented film starred Jayaram and Kanika and Narain proved a lucky star for sathyan anthikkad jayaram film.This was a box office winner. Narain is at present doing Veeraputhran directed by P.T.Kunjyu Muhammed.This period film will be a very challenging role in narains career.Narain replaced another young star as he suited the character better says the director.
