Ömer Faruk Aşık is a Turkish professional basketball player, currently playing for the NBA's Chicago Bulls. Aşık, standing at 7'0", was a sought after by many of the top Euroleague basketball teams at the age of 19.

2009-10: Played with Fenerbahce Ulker of Istanbul … played in seven Euroleague games and averaged 8.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.40 bpg and shot .658 from the field and .364 from the line … appeared in nine Turkish League contests and posted 10.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.60 bpg, .613 from the field and .429 from the stripe … missed two months of action due to a broken left clavicle.

He grew up playing for Fenerbahce Istanbul in his native Turkey … was loaned to Kadikoy Belediyesi in the Turkish League’s second division for the majority of the 2005-06 season … played with the silver medal-winning Turkish National Team in the U20 European Championships in Izmir, Turkey, where he averaged 2.0 ppg and 2.6 rpg in seven contests … was a member of the silver-medal winning Turkish squad at the 2010 FIBA World Championships held in Istanbul … in nine FIBA World Championship matches, he averaged 8.9 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.22 bpg and 19.0 mpg, and shot .552 from the field …

2008-09 (Fenerbahce): Played in 18 games and tallied 7.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.00 bpg and shot .649 from the field and .420 from the line

2007-08 (Alpella/ Fenerbahce): Started the season with Alpella, and averaged 15.0 ppg and 11.3 rpg in 10 games … he recorded seven double-doubles … also played for Fenerbahce, and averaged 7.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg in 20 games … between Alpella and Fenerbahce, he led the league in blocked shots with 1.90 bpg … with Fenerbahce in Euroleague play, he averaged 7.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 2.10 bpg in 18.6 mpg … he set a Euroleague record for blocked shots in Top 16 round play with 19 … he posted highs of 13 points, 11 boards and five blocks versus Aris, as he helped lead Fenerbahce to a quarterfinals finish … garnered Turkish League All-Star honors for the second year in a row
