Padalecki (nicknamed Gerry), a tax supervisor and accountant. He is of Polish ancestry on his father's side. Padalecki was raised Roman Catholic. Padalecki dated actress Sandra McCoy, with whom he co-starred in the thriller Cry Wolf, for three years before becoming engaged in early 2008. They broke off the engagement in April 2008. In 2004, he appeared in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen comedy New York Minute, and also had a role in the thriller Flight of the Phoenix.
