Robin Lopez is an American Basketball player which is now playing as center for the Phoenix Suns of the NBA.

Suns center Robin Lopez turned in another pedestrian performance in Sunday's 108-99 win over the Clippers. Lopez finished with just one point in the contest, which came from the free-throw line. He missed on both of his field goal attempts, but did manage block two shots and grab a defensive rebound while logging 12 minutes.

In his second NBA season, blossomed after becoming the club’s starting center midway through the campaign… In his sophomore season, nearly doubled his averages from his rookie campaign, averaging a career-high 8.4 points, career-high 4.9 rebounds, career-high one block and a career-best 19.3 minutes in 51 games, including a career-high 31 starts… Shot a career-high 58.8 percent from the field (171-of-291), which would have ranked third in the NBA if he reached statistical minimum to qualify (min. 300 FGM)… Inserted into the starting lineup on Jan. 18 at Memphis and subsequently averaged 11.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 24.5 minutes in 31 games… The Suns compiled a 22-9 (.710) record in his starts… Scored in double figures in 19 of 31 starts after entering the season with three double-digit scoring efforts as a rookie… In just his 29th game of the season on Feb. 1, surpassed his scoring total from his entire rookie season… Scored in double figures in four-straight games three different times after entering the season with three career double-digit scoring efforts… Tallied the first two 20-point efforts of his career, including a career-high 30 points vs. LA Clippers Feb. 26… That game was Lopez’s first career 20-point, 10-rebound game and first 30-point, 10-rebound outing… Registered four double-doubles, the first four of his career, all of which came after the All-Star break… Now owns five career double-digit rebound efforts, four of which came in 2009-10, including a career-high 12 boards Feb. 26 vs. LA Clippers… Transformed the Suns rebounding while a starter, as the Suns owned +4.8 advantage on the boards with him… Phoenix won or tied the rebounding battle in 24 of 31 games with him, something the club did 22 times in 51 games otherwise… Blocked a career-high and Suns season-high six shots Jan. 15 at Atlanta… Unfortunately, season was book-ended with injuries… After a strong training camp, suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot in the team’s camp-ending intrasquad scrimmage and underwent surgery that made him inactive for the season’s first 15 games (season debut came Nov. 27 at Minnesota)… Missed the season’s final 10 games due to a back injury… Returned to action in the 2010 NBA Conference Finals, where he averaged 7.8 points and four rebounds in six games.

Selected by the Suns with the 15th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Robin Lopez averaged 3.2 ppg, two rebounds, 52% FG and 10.2 mpg in 60 games... Made his NBA debut on opening night at San Antonio (10/29/08), tallying three points and two rebounds in nine minutes... Made his first career start vs. Chicago (11/7/08), recording his first double-digit scoring effort (14 points, seven boards, two blocks)... Racked up a season-best 11 boards at Minnesota (4/11/09).


Enjoyed a standout two-year collegiate career at Stanford, where he averaged 8.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, and 2.3 bpg in 67 career games.
