Ryan Eggold life and biography

Ryan James Eggold is an American film and television actor. He is best known for his role as Ryan Matthews on the CW television series 90210.

Ryan graduated from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 2002, where he participated in many school theater performances, and later from the University of Southern California's theater arts department in 2006. He also writes music, plays guitar and piano, and sings in his band.

He had recurring roles on CBS's Young and the Restless, HBO's Entourage, Cartoon Network's Out of Jimmy's Head, ABC's Brothers & Sisters and The CW's Veronica Mars, before obtaining his first series regular role on the FX's Dirt.

In addition to his work in television, Eggold made his professional stage debut in the 2006 Ahmanson Theatre/Center Theatre Group production Dead End, directed by Nick Martin, and has since appeared in productions of Leipzig, and the LA Weekly Theater Award-winning production of Marat/Sade.

He currently plays English teacher Ryan Matthews in the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff titled 90210 on the CW, despite the fact that he is less than one year older than several of the other actors who play his students, and is in fact younger than Matt Lanter, Michael Steger, and Trevor Donovan.

In June 2011, several television magazines and press had reported that Eggold signed a deal to join the cast of CBS daytime Soap Opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. It was highly rumored that he could be portraying a new Rick Forrester but several sources and magazines have said he will be portraying a newly created role. However in July 2011, it was reported by several sources that Eggold's character, which has not yet been named, it only a short term role.
