S.P. Muthuraman life and biography

S.P. Muthuraman (born 7 April 1935) is an Indian film director who works in the Tamil Film Industry. He has directed 75 films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. He was popularly regarded as a successful commercial director in Tamil cinema. Initially he worked mainly with Sivaji Ganesan, Jaishankar and Kamal Haasan. But later his association with Rajinikanth proved to be very successsful and they worked together in 25 films. He directed 25 Hit filims for rajinikanth who has acted 150 filims till date. He is one of the highly successful Indian film director.

Muthuraman was born on 7 April 1935 in a Chettiar family in Karaikudi. He started his film career through A. V. M Productions as an assistant director to the duo Krishnan-Panju, eventually working with A. Bhimsingh and A. C. Thirulokachander.
