Suite 709 is a Mo-Town influenced Pop/Soul group based in Austin, TX voted Top 10 New Bands of 2010 & Best Find at SXSW 2011 by Chronicle & QRO Magazine. The sound has been described as Jackson 5 meets Maroon 5. Their debut, 100% fan-funded album “Keys” has received rave reviews from fans worldwide!
Suite 709 launched at SXSW 2010 and has already won accolades of “Best New Band in Austin” and “Top 10 New Bands of 2010” in the Austin Chronicle Music Awards, and has more recently been receiving stellar reviews from Grammy-award winning Artists , including Delious Kennedy (All-4-One), who says of the band, “I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, that in less than 3 years, this band will have secured a label deal and will be on their way to becoming a household name. Every Suite 709 show is like a party from beginning to end. With a sound that has been classified by fans as funk to rock & soul, Suite 709 blends the elements of R&B and Soul with a touch of Rock to create a unique style that translates to multiple audiences. The Suite 709 sound is reminiscent of Motown’s mega-pop group The Jackson 5 to modern day R&B superstar John Legend, with a touch of James Brown’s flare. Their thrilling live show is an indication of one thing in particular: Suite 709 wants to make you dance. Soulful frontman, Jirod Greene’s playful melodic scats & vocal acrobatics matched with his animated stage presence holds the crowd’s attention and his bandmates are just as engaging. Greene, Dietrich Schmidt (keys), David Butler (guitar), Drew Walters (bass) & Zach Boston (drums) are bringing new flavor to music lovers.
