Jason Derulo explains more about his accident, says the neck brace is comfortable while traveling

The R&B singer Jason Derulo gave reporters from The (Sydney) Sunday Telegraph a nice response to their questions about his recent neck fracture. Despite he suffered a serious and dramatic neck fracture, the 22-year-old singer is looking positive at his experience. "I feel so blessed," Derulo told by phone from Los Angeles. "I could not be here right now, it was very close. The injuries I sustained could have ended in three ways: I could have been paralyzed for life; I could have been gone [dead]; or I could have a neck brace on for six months".

"I came out blessed, so I'm feeling very positive."

"It has its moments," he laughed about his neck brace. "When I'm on a plane, it's actually pretty comfortable because I can just lean back and it just perches my head up." Since smashing onto the charts with his catchy single "Whatcha Say" in 2009, Derulo has sold more than 13 million singles and albums worldwide.

The accident, he says, forced him to appreciate life - and his many successes - more than he has in the past. "My dreams came true but I didn't take a second to take that in and enjoy it," he said. "The whole process has slowed the world down and I am able to see things from a new perspective. It has been go, go, go for the past couple of years and I didn't really have a chance to take it all in." Jason is recording new material in a L.A. Studio and despite he is not ready to announce his return on his Future History world tour, he said he's excited of going to Australia on tour. "It's my favourite place in the world," he said. "Hopefully I'll be there soon for a vacation. "It'd be cool to just go and enjoy Australia for what it is and not be working at the same time."
