Pacquiao wins against Marquez by close split-decision
Manny Pacquiao, 32 won his third match against Juan Manuel Marquez,38 by majority decision with one judge scoring it 114-114, two others seeing 115-113 and 115-112 for Pacquiao. Marquez said he has been "robbed for the second time" after the 12 long rounds. "It's hard when you're fighting your rival and the three judges, too," Marquez said.
The audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas booed the decision at the fight's end and also booed loudly during Pacquiao's in-ring interview after the bout.
The two first met in 2004, when the fight ended as draw and the rematch in 2008 Marquez lost in a hard-fought split-decision. Since that, Marquez has gone 5-1 with big wins over Michael Katsidis and Joel Casamayor, but also lost in 2009 against Floyd Mayweather Jr. .
