American Pop-punk rock band Green Day have confirmed on Friday they will be performing live in Europe this Summer, announcing three headline shows in Germany. Green Day have announced they will perform first at Munchengladbach's Hockey Park on 29th August, followed by one show at Berlin's Wuhkheide on 30th August as well as a date at Rock Am See Festival in Konstanz on 31st August. British fans are still waiting for the announcement of some UK dates, however, Green Day's growing live schedule in Europe surely means that their UK visit isn’t far away.

These dates now adds to previously announced headline shots at Japan's Summer Sonic festival, Italy's I-Day festival in Bologna and France's Rock En Seine event.

Green Day's American Idiot musical will tour the UK later this year. The musical, which is currently touring North America, begins a three-month UK in September and finishes in late December with a two-week run at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo.

They are currently working on a new album, a follow-up to their 21^st Century Breakdown, an installment that promises to make a big, powerful statement. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong once said about the band's recording progress: "It's a new sound and it's f-cking with my head."
