Sweden's Euphoric performance wins at Baku Eurovision Song Contest 2012

Next places were taken by Russia's representative Buranovskiye Babushki, a choir of elderly women from a remote Russian village who warmed the hearts of audiences with their disco song in traditional dress and took the second place with 259 points. Meanwhile Serbia, represented by the hugely popular Eurovision veteran Zeljko Joksimovic, came third with 214 points.

Sweden's representative to the Eurovision Song Conntest Baku 2012, Loreen did "Light the fire" in the hearts of people all around the world with "Euphoria" and won the competition scooping a crushing total of 372 votes. After taking the chance to perform a different song at the Baku Crystal Hall, Loreen spoke to the press audience after the winning:


"I have so many things to say to all of you who believed in me. Thanks for your support, from all of my heart! To the Swedish audience, I would like to say thank you for giving this type of performance a chance."



"I hope that Euphoria stays in the hearts of the people as long as possible", she replied to the question of an Azerbaijani journalist. About her feelings in the green room, she stated: "I felt like in a vacuum, like time stopped."

Loreen success is the fifth victory from a Swedish entry in the history of contest, while their participation goes back to 1958.
