The Muppets honored with Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame

Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo The Great and newcomer Walter were all in attendance to accept their Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame.

Hollywood recently honored The Muppets with Walk of Fame Star! The foam and felt creations secured their place in movie history with the 2,466th star on the famous sidewalk, according to the Huffington Post. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo The Great and newcomer Walter were all in attendance to accept the honour.


Kermit who debuted on TV in 1955 said: I want to say on behalf of the Muppets that we are just really happy to be here on Hollywood Boulevard joining some of the greatest names in showbiz.


Jim Henson's daughter Lisa who attended the event, added: As the Muppets once sang, 'Look at us, here we are, right where we belong', and yes, they do belong, thanks to the lovers and dreamers and you, the fans.


The unveiling of the star out- side the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre drew more than 100 people. The theater appears in the film as the old Muppets Theatre and was also the location of its world premiere in November.


The Muppets have been successfully revived on the big screen with the latest movie, starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams. Following the heroes as they reunite for one last performance to save their old theatre from an evil oil tycoon, the movie won an Oscar for Bret McKenzie's original song 'Man Or Muppet'. A sequel was recently announced by Disney.
