Hugo, The Artist topped the winners list of Academy Awards on Sunday

Meryl Streep and Jean Dujardin were amongst the winners of the Sunday night's ceremony of 84th Academy Awards. Meanwhile, "Hugo" and "The Artist" topped the winners list with five trophies each. "The Artist" took home several important nominations, such as Best Picture, Best Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Original Score, while "Hugo" won the Oscar statues for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Cinematography.


Among other winners are included "The Descendants", "Saving Face", "Beginners", "Midnight in Paris", "Saving Face". Christopher Plummer won his first-ever Oscar trophy at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night. The movie veteran took home Best Supporting Actor title through his role as Ewan McGregor's on-screen father in "Beginners". Aged 82, Plummer becomes the oldest actor to ever receive the honor. "You're only two years older than me, darling," he jokingly said to his Oscar statuette while the audience was giving a standing ovation. "Where have you been all my life?"
